Terms and Conditions for CreekDontRise.comTM
Note: This information is provided because some states and countries insist on us defining exactly what reader information we capture and keep and what we do with it.
The first thing you need to know is that none of our article pages or newsletters use cookies or collect user information of any kind.
That said, if you contact us by e-mail, sign up for our newsletter, or sign up for our discussion forums, we will collect certain information necessary to process your request. Again, this doesn't happen unless you initiate the contact.
- If You Voluntarily Contact Us, we ask for your full name and address, because we wasted many hours researching and providing detailed answers to what seemed like legitimate questions from interested readers, only to discover that the whole contact was somebody's idea of a "joke," or that the person took the information we gave him and posted it elsewhere as if he was the source.
No one but the site Administrator will ever see your information; we never share it with anybody period.
- If You Voluntarily Sign Up for Our Newsletter, we ask for your full name and address, because we have been "burned" by too many scammers, spammers, and trolls, including folks who only signed up so they could plagiarize our materials more easily. If you think this puts an unnecessary burden on would-be subscribers, you have to admit that you would be providing the same information to any publication that came in the mail.
No one but the site Administrator will ever see your information; we never share it with anybody period.
- If You Voluntarily Sign Up for Discussion Forums (like Family Garden Trains reader discussion forum):
- When you sign up, we require your real name and address before you join - we do this to protect our members from scams, spams, and trolls. Since you know who I am, I think I have a right to know who you are.
- Once you are enrolled, the only thing other members see is the user name/nickname you choose when you sign up.
No one besides the forum Administrator will ever see your details, or even your real name or e-mail address. We never share it with anybody period.
In any of these cases, if you don't think we have a right to know who we're spending time communicating with or who our subscribers are, that's fine; we won't be offended if you don't sign up.
Your continued use of our pages indicates that you agree with our policies.
Keep in Touch
Finally, please let us know about your ongoing projects. Ask questions, send corrections, suggest article ideas, send photos, whatever you think will help you or your fellow railroaders. In the meantime, enjoy your trains, and especially enjoy any time you have with your family in the coming weeks,
Paul Race

How To Help Us Promote Traditional Music for Free: If you find our tips, explanations, and recommendations helpful when picking out a product, and you appreciate that we don't continually inconvenience you with irrelevant ads or obnoxious popups, Please Bookmark This Page and come back through it when you're ready to order. In some cases - not all - we get a very small portion of your purchase price, all of which goes to supporting our sites. Ironically, if you don't come through our page, someone else like Facebook or the Weather Channel will usually get that "fee" anyway. In the meantime, it costs you nothing. We never see who placed the order, so you don't have to worry about us pestering you with followup e-mails or some such. But it helps us know what pages our readers find useful, and it helps our advertisers know who to support.
And that, in turn, helps us provide more useful resources. Thank you!
