                                                      Deering Goodtime Banjo
"The Goodtime banjo is made in America, within the Deering factory and is designed to produce the finest tone and playability possible for the lowest possible price. The rock maple neck has the frets fitted into the neck the same way many of the classic (now collector's item) electric guitars in the '60's were made and are still made today. This technique has passed the test of time. The neck has a slender, low profile that makes it a joy to play for hands of all sizes."
Gold Tone CC 100R Cripple Creek Bluegrass Banjo
"Never before has an entry level banjo included the features and tone of our CC-100R. Check any competitive banjo in this price range and youll find "more bang for the buck" with our Cripple Creek. Assembled and set up in the USA."
Tyler Mountain TM5-50 5 string banjo
Korean-made budget five-string banjo. You can pick it up for considerably less than the list price at eBay, but even so it might not be a good idea.

I haven't tried it myself, but the Tyler Mountains banjos are mentioned from time to time at Banjo-L and it seems everybody agrees you get more banjo for less money if you buy a second-hand Japanese made banjo (or a new Lotus or Aria).

They also tend to have a very high action, making them hard to play, unless you do some serious neck adjustments.
