 Time for our first tune. I've called it:

Norwegian lullaby

This is a traditional Norwegian style lullaby, but don't fall asleep yet, there are a few things we have to look at!

First there's the new note, the c. You play that on the third fret of the a string:



Half-notes

Then there are those white dots. These are half-notes and last twice as long as the normal black quarter notes. (That's why there are only room for two of them in each bar.)

Staff lines

With three different notes in our diagram, it's getting a bit difficult to keep track of which is which. We can make it simpler by drawing a line through the middle notes (the b's) Any note on that line is a b, a note below it is an a and one above it is a c.
