 Frets can be thick or thin, high or low crowned. There used to be this belief that the thinner the frets were, the easier the instrument was to play. Then for a while fashion made a u-turn and really big fat "jumbo frets" became the standard for easy and fast playing. Today most people settle for more sensible medium-sized ones.
