As far as I know there are no special strings for the bass banjo on the market. Any acoustic bass guitar strings should do nicely though . I'll recommend Elixir strings here. The disadvantages of coated strings are greatly reduced as the strings get thicker and on a bass the little dampening there's left can actually improve the tone and open up the instrument's sound.
  If you prefer the extra edge of regular uncoated strings do yourself a favour and try Rotosound at least once in your life. You won't regret it.

If your bass need loop-end strings...
  Well I don't know of any bass banjo that does that, but D'Addario has a bass mandolin string set that might work.
