From Clay Mills:
How to Build a Better Song Catalog.

One of the points is to have a variety of styles, also more "cutting edge" than retro. You don't want to be in front of someone important and have them ask if you have a certain kind of song that you ought to have, based on the genres and styles you usually work, and you come up empty.

Attention songwriters and wannabe songwriters: Hit songwriters Clay Mills and Marty Dodson are offering 6-week classes in Melody and Lyrics respectively, enrollment closing soon. There is a fee, but you'll find it's less than a lot of folks charge for similar programs, and these guys are a lot more qualified to teach this stuff. No, I don't get paid for recommending their programs, I have just seen enough of what they do to have far more confidence in them than anyone else purporting to do the same thing.
