P.S. This graphic is not meant to be an affirmation of any specific banjo-playing style, although the farmer certainly seems to have a clawhammer hand position. :-)

This cartoon is my way of introducing a new blog: Six Myths about the banjo. http://www.paulracemusic.com/musical-in ... the-banjo/

I had posted a link to this in another forum, but the web site I linked to broke the link, so I'm reposting here because it's worth keeping.

Reposted here because there IS a banjo. I got the idea for this while carrying a backless banjo in a gig bag in a public park. It occurred to me that it would look like a gun case to the average non-banjo player. Just like my Martin Backpacker, in the official Martin gig bag looks like I'm backpacking a sawed-off shotgun or something along that line. I saw one fellow in an airport who had painted his Backpacker gig bag with white paint: "This is a guitar."

Turns out, the way Ohio law works, you're allowed to carry an AK-47 into ANY public place that doesn't have a sign discouraging it and some places that do, because of so-called "open carry laws" that were bought and paid for by NRA contributions to gerrymandering politicians who will give us what their contributors want and the wishes of Ohio constituents be damned.

Well there is ONE kind of open carry I approve of.

I'm not even sure what the label on this meme is trying to imply, but you have to admit it's curious.
