Post subject:  Loving Your Audience

My old acquaintance, live music producer Tom Jackson often talks about "loving your audience." The point being that if you're there to win kudos or sell records, you're missing the point. According to Tom, you're there to be a blessing to your audience, to encourage, entertain, amuse, or otherwise let them leave less stressed, more energized, more optimistic, and or happier than when they came in.

Here's a video about a comic who says his life as a comedian turned around when he realized that he was there for the audience's benefit, not the other way around.

WELL said, Michael Jr.!
