Here's a link to the electric version ($320)

The basic version is available for $250 but for some reason I can't pull up the link to that one directly.

My comparison of the two is at:

http://creekdontrise.com/acoustic/six_s ... ootout.htm However the links in that article won't take you to Guitar Center's closeout, so you'll have to hit the back button to get back here, or navigate there on your own.

The short version: the basic version with the big metal flange has much more volume and sustain, but is harder for guitarists to adapt to. The electric version isn't as loud (and amplified it doesn't sound much like a banjo), but it's way easier for guitarists to adapt to and better for strumming styles like Clawhammer. BOTH are far better than Rogue or any of the other cheaper brands.

Looking at the Guitar Center pages, it's easy to see that a lot of used 6-string banjos have found their way back to the stores. I'm guessing that the "ANY guitarist can become a banjo player OVERNIGHT" hype has "come home to roost." But it's still a unique instrument, and played right has its own voice.

Best of luck. - Paul
