Here's a Deering tip page on how to improve your banjo tone without practicing. http://blog.deeringbanjos.com/5-ways-im ... racticing/ That said, one of the easiest ways to improve your banjo tone without practicing is to buy a better banjo and sell your old one. Seriously. You can LEARN on a cheapie, and I keep cheapies around for trips to the beach, but adding a tone ring, for example, will change things dramatically.
