 Some common banjo heads.
Have a look at Choosing a head for your banjo if you're not sure what you're looking for.

A few words about this list
Elite Banjo Head
Elite banjo heads are made from a special synthetic material attempting to emulate natural calfskin as closely as possible, but without all the disadvantages of natural skin.
    Ludwig Five Star Banjo Head
Also sold under the brand name "Five Star". Like Weatherking, Ludwig/Five Star is made from .007" film, but it's still considerably heavier producing a very different sound. It comes both with a frosted and a smooth surface, and even in clear, transparent plastic.
Five Star Five Star Banjo Head
      Same as Ludwig's banjo head.
        Stewart-MacDonald Skin Banjo Head
        Goatskin head premounted or unmounted.
          Remo Weatherking Banjo Head
Manufactured by Remo, but also sold under other brand names, the Weatherking is made from mylar plastic epoxied into an aluminum hoop and sprayed with a thin white plastic frosting on top. This original design revolutionized the banjo nearly 50 years ago: it solved the problems of stretching and shrinking which were inherent in skin heads, and gave the instrument a brighter, crisper tone.
            Gibson Banjo Head
Gibson's own brand of banjo heads.
              Deering Banjo Head
              ???
                Remo Fiberskyn Banjo Head
Remo's Fibeskyn is made to emulate the sound and feel of natural skin. It has a very unusual texture, at first glance looking almost like thick-fibered paper!
Gold Tone Natural goatskin banjo head
                  Premounted
Zepp Natural calfskin banjo head , high quality
Opaque white calfskin that fits a banjo up to 12"
                      Gretsch Permatone Banjo Head
Gretsch' standard banjo head. I don't know if it's still in production.
Zepp Natural calfskin banjo head , economy
Translucent white calfskin that fits a banjo up to 12". Made in Pakistan.
                          Remo Renaissance Banjo Head
Uncoated mylar head with fibrous inclusions, made to look and sound as closely as possible to a natural calf skin head. Both when it comes to sound and finish it comes somewhere in between Remo's Fiberskyn and Weatherking.
