One Friday in March, I drove past an old motel that USED to be a Holiday Inn on Leffel lane just off of I-70 and Route 72. A banner tied over the sign said "Banjorama." That was ALL the notice I had. I later tried to find a web site or SOMETHING, but all I could find was web pages of individuals or groups who had participated in previous years. So I went in, walked around, got strange looks from people who seemed to realize that I had no idea what I had stumbled into.
95% of the music going on was jazz-influenced, 4-string banjo-based. I saw a full ensemble playing, wandered around a bit, took some photos on my cell phone, wished I had my camera or my banjo or $3000 to spend on toys. But I had to go back to work, so all I know about Banjorama is what I've posted on these pages. If you are associated with this show, try to get some publicity going next time.
Here is a group practicing between sets.
